Grafton
Grafton is a town in the Vermont county of Windham. Grafton is located 45 miles north of Brattleboro and 20 miles west of Bellows Falls on the Connecticut River, which runs through Vermont and New Hampshire. The nearest interstate roadway is I-91, which runs north-south. To get to Grafton, exit I-91 near Bellows Fall and head west on Route 121, which follows the Saxtons River.
Grafton is a charming little town that looks like it came straight out of a movie, with its gorgeous clapboard houses and white steeple church. In fact, it appears much like it did in the 1800s; many of the ancient buildings have been meticulously and lovingly restored by the community, but unlike some other "museum towns," it is home to a thriving population of residents. Visitors typically come here merely to soak in the ambiance and visit the town's art galleries and stores, but another popular attraction is the Grafton Cheese Co., which sells wonderful hand-crafted cheeses. This is one of the Best Day Trips from Vermont that you should experience.
