Hartford
Hartford is a town in Windsor County, Vermont, United States. It is located on the border of New Hampshire, at the junction of Interstates 89 and 91.
Hartford, located at the confluence of the Connecticut and White Rivers, is made up of five unincorporated villages: Hartford, Quechee, West Hartford, White River Junction, and Wilder, each with its own distinct personality. All of the villages are worth a visit, but the highlights are Quechee, a charming resort town with wonderful old buildings, and West Hartford, a rural hamlet with excellent fishing and a location on the Appalachian Trail.
The surrounding area is also full with excellent sights, such as the 165-foot Quechee Gorge and local maple farms where tourists can discover how maple sap is harvested and made into syrup.
Furthermore, Hartford, Vermont has a plethora of parks, sporting fields, and open areas. Clifford Park, Frost Park, Lyman Point Park, Maxfield Sports & Recreation Complex, Ratcliff Park, Veterans Park, and Watson Park are among the 19 recreational sites in the town. The Parks and Recreation Department is active and provides a range of seasonal programs as well as chances for visitors to get involved in the community.
