Grotta Zinzulusa
Grotta Zinzulusa is one of the most well-known, significant and beautiful caves in Italy. It is located between Castro and Santa Cesarea Terme on the Salento coast (Apulia). There are fresh water springs inside the cave, in addition to sea water. This magnificent cave on the Ionian Sea gets its name from the dialectal word "zinzuli," which means "shreds." The stalactites dangling from the ceiling resemble hanging tatters. This is also one of the most beautiful caves in Italy.
Grotta Zinzulusa protects some amazing natural wonders. The long so-called Wonders Passage can be found near the entrance, and it leads to Trabocchetto Lake, a beautiful freshwater lake. Moving on, you'll come across "Il Duomo," a large cavern with smooth walls reaching up to 25 meters in height. Finally, 160 meters from the entrance, the Cocito, a little lagoon, may be found.
If you're looking for a place to stay in the area, Masseria Uccio is the place to go! This farm is located 3 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea, amid one of Salento and Apulia's most unspoiled natural parks. Masseria Uccio, made entirely of local stones and tuffs, is a testament to Apulia's old agricultural population.
You must take a walk along the bauxite lakes, which are located near the cave and have an alluring charm. A magical place dominated by color contrast. The path is also very accessible by bicycle!
