Grotte di Frasassi
Grotte di Frasassi are a natural wonder located in the Gola della Rossa and Frasassi Regional Natural Park, near Fabriano and one hour from Ancona (Marche). This cave has a number of natural sculptures that have grown over 190 million years through calcareous layers! The Frasassi Caves are a karst cave system located in the town of Genga, in the province of Ancona, Marche, Italy. They are among Italy's most beautiful caves.
The caves' size varies, however certain sections are quite large. For example, the cavern known as "Abisso Ancona" is so large that it could encompass the Duomo di Milano. The Frasassi Caves are also a hotspot for biodiversity. More than 60 different animal species, including bats, can be found inside.
