Guishan Island
This small island is shaped like a turtle emerging from the sea and that’s the reason why "Turtle Mountain Island" is an exact translation of Guishan Island. The island has hot underground water currents, sea-eroded caves, lakes, cliffs and unique vegetation, as well as rich marine resources. It is an ideal place to study volcanic terrain and natural ecosystems.
Although the island is unoccupied, several boats visit it every day. On the island, there is some little infrastructure created for the sole aim of attracting tourists. It's also not difficult to get a tour to Guishan Island; you can certainly book one from the Yilan hotel.
Tours begin with a tour around the island, where there's a good possibility you'll spot wild dolphins up close. The journey takes you through beautiful greenery to explore abandoned settlements, military tunnels, temples, museums, and vistas after arriving on the island's north side. It's a fascinating Taiwanese island that's well worth a visit!
