Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth

Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth is a South Korean television series starring Park Seo-joon, Go A-ra, and Park Hyung-sik. It revolves around an elite group of young men called Hwarang, who discover their passion, friendship and love in the turmoil of the Silla Kingdom (57 BC–AD 935). The series aired every Monday and Tuesday at 22:00 (KST) on KBS2, from December 19, 2016, to February 21, 2017.


This drama is about the Hwarangs, a group of the Silla Kingdom's most distinguished young men. They have all of the characteristics and talents required to protect the Kingdom and its royal family. The historical drama transports us to the 6th century and informs us about the lives of young people at the period, concentrating on their friendships and love.

Hwarang
is a historical drama with contemporary aspects like romance, humor, and action. There are enough intriguing and humorous sequences with likable and entertaining characters to keep you engaged. If you want sophisticated political struggles in plays, you'll be a little underwhelmed. If you want to take a break and search for a simple narrative with a nice conclusion, give it a go.
