In Living Color
From April 15, 1990, until May 19, 1994, In Living Color was an American sketch comedy television series that aired on Fox. The show was developed, written, and starred Keenen Ivory Wayans. The show was filmed at stage 7 at the Fox Television Center on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California, by Ivory Way Productions in collaboration with 20th Television.
The series title was inspired by an NBC statement in the 1960s, prior to popular color television, that broadcasts would be shown "in living color." It also refers to the fact that the majority of the cast was Black, as opposed to other sketch comedy shows like Saturday Night Live, which had primarily White casts at the time. In 1990, the series won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Series, alongside a lot of other awards throughout the world.
