Married... with Children
Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt created the American television sitcom Married... with Children for Fox. It is the longest-running live-action sitcom on Fox, as well as one of the longest-running live-action comedies in television history, alongside NBC's Cheers and CBS's M*A*S*H, and the first to be shown in the network's primetime slot. It aired from April 5, 1987, until June 9, 1997.
The sitcom follows Al Bundy, a former All-American high school football star who now works as a hard-luck women's shoe salesman, his lazy wife, Peggy, their gorgeous, stupid, and popular daughter, Kelly, and their clever, horny, and unpopular son, Bud, as they live in suburban Chicago. Steve Rhoades and his wife Marcy live next door, and Marcy eventually remarries Jefferson D'Arcy, a white-collar crook who becomes her "trophy husband" and Al's sidekick. Al's efforts are usually defeated by his own cartoonishly stupid wit and bad luck in the majority of stories.
