Jayapura

Jayapura is the capital and largest city in Indonesia's Papua province. It is located on New Guinea's northern coast and has an area of 940.0 km2. The city is bounded to the north by the Pacific Ocean and Yos Sudarso Bay, to the east by the sovereign state of Papua New Guinea, to the south by Keerom Regency, and to the west by Jayapura Regency. Jayapura, with a population of 398,478 according to the 2020 census, is the most populated city on the entire island of New Guinea, surpassing Port Moresby, the country's capital.
