Manado
Manado is the capital of Indonesia's North Sulawesi province. It is the second largest city in Sulawesi after Makassar, with a population of 451,916 according to the 2020 Census, spread on a land area of 162.53 km2. As of 2018, the Manado metropolitan region had a population of 1.2 million people. The city is surrounded by mountains and is located near the Bay of Manado.
Manado's beauty extends to the depths of the sea, which is home to magnificent coral beds. The Bunaken National Park in the Manado Gulf is conveniently placed in the heart of a vast Coral Triangle, which is home to nearly 400 oceanic species.
