Jenny Lake
Jenny Lake is one of the largest lakes in Wyoming, located in Grand Teton National Park in the U.S. state of Wyoming. This lake is part of Grand Teton National Park. A terminal moraine that presently impounds the lake was created by glaciers pushing rock debris during the last glacial maximum that cut Cascade Canyon roughly 12,000 years ago. The lake has a surface area of 482 ha and is thought to be 278 m deep. With its abundance of hiking paths, picturesque boat excursions, and easy access to the main climbing routes up the greatest peaks of the Teton Range.
Glaciers pushed rock debris into a hole that became the Cascade Canyon and the lake's home more than 12,000 years ago, forming Jenny Lake as a result. The lake is a prominent feature of the Grand Teton National Park, and numerous hiking trails, like the Jenny Lake Trail, encircle it. .
Many day and overnight hiking excursions begin at Jenny Lake. The 210 m elevation rise on the 11.4 km Jenny Lake Trail, which round the lake, makes the trail a reasonably simple one. Once in Cascade Canyon, though, the elevation rises quickly.
