Jermuk Waterfall
One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Armenia is Jermuk Waterfall. The waterfall is located at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. Jermuk Waterfall, which is 70 meters high, is regarded as Armenia's second-highest waterfall. Regarding the waterfall's beginnings, there is an intriguing legend. There there was a nobleman who constructed a castle on the rocks above the gorge. Bridegrooms from all over the world wanted to wed the nobleman's daughter because she was so stunning. Her affections, however, belonged to the shepherd's son.
Every night, the girl would throw a rope into the gorge, and her lover would climb it to reach his love through the window. The girl transformed into a mermaid at night and tossed the braid in place of the rope, turning her hair into a waterfall in the process. Since then, the waterfall has been referred to as "the mermaid's hair".
The Jermuk Waterfall is a rare occurrence. Its waters are frigid even on the hottest summer days. Additionally, the most well-known mineral water, Jermuk, is made with water from the Jermuk waterfall.
