Shaki Waterfall
Shaki waterfall is regarded as one of Armenia's most famous waterfalls. The Syunik region, known for its historical and ecological landmarks, is where it is situated.
The waterfall is created on the Shaki River by the inflow of Vorotan, which plunges from a height of 18 meters into a narrow valley. Shaki waterfall has a considerable capacity despite its diminutive height, and the thundering of the water can be heard from a distance.
The Shaki waterfall is the subject of a legend. The plot centers on the stunning girl Shake, who jumped off a cliff after defying the conquerors' orders. The girl's clothing split open in the wind as she fell, turning it into a cascade. The waterfall was given the name Shaki in Shake's honor.
Ancient civilizations that lived in the Shaki waterfall region left their mark in caves and rock crevices. Although there is a winding road that leads to the waterfall, you must get out of your car and walk a little distance to reach it.
