The Kasakh waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Armenia. The natural landmark is situated in the Aragatsotn region, close to the settlement of Ovanavan. The highest waterfall in Armenia is near Kasakh (70 meters). The Kasakh River transforms into a raging cascade. It spills out of the tall cliffs and plunges into a gorge.
The majestic Kasakh waterfall is incredibly mesmerizing with its strong rocks, lush vegetation, and natural surroundings. The idyllic scenery is completed by the historic monastery of Ovanavank. The monastery is situated at the edge of a cliff on the opposite side of the gorge from the waterfall. Ovanavank's monastery complex is attractive due to its distinctive architecture and lavish decor. The church of St. Gregory from the V century is the monastery's oldest structure. If you merely go to Ovanavank monastery, your vacation to Kasakh waterfall will be complete. The thunder of the waterfall disturbs the monastery's seclusion and heavenly silence.
