Trchkan Waterfall
Trchkan Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Armenia and has the tallest vertical drop at a height of 75 feet.
On the Chichkhan River, at the border of the Shirak and Lori provinces, is the 23-meter-tall Trchkan Waterfall. The Chichkhan River is literally teeming with trout, and the terrain is home to numerous uncommon species of animals and plants, many of which are recognized in the Red Book. Trout, who are swimming to spawn, are responsible for the waterfall's name, "Trchkan," since they leap out of the water above the cascade.
The waterfall will be entirely frozen throughout the winter, offering a stunning new perspective. There are numerous picnic sites and barbecues in the vicinity of Trchkan Waterfall. You can also explore the nearby small trails to find other vantage points for the falls. You might run into some locals hanging out there if the weather is pleasant, so be ready to share some food and beverages with them!
