Kanapa

Get away from the bustling uzviz and into this lovely ancient wooden cottage with sliding-glass doors that view out onto a green valley. Kanapa delivers modern cuisine that is mostly sourced from its own farm. It's not traditional: green borscht is made with nettles, while chicken Kiev is made with pheasant rather than chicken. Other specialties include Ukrainian mussels, caviar, and pâté.

A good spot to go for a cheap and unique breakfast (10am to noon). Kanapka, a sister cafe across the street, specializes in lighter fare and wine.
