Osteria Pantagruel

In a whitewashed cellar close to Zoloti Vorota, Kyiv's best Italian restaurant has been operating for what seems like an eternity, producing outstanding homemade pasta and risotto. During the summer, tables and chairs spill out onto the front plaza, making it the ideal spot for a beer on a hot summer evening. There's also a second menu with cheaper Ukrainian food and burgers.

Pantyusha, who originally lived in the restaurant, is commemorated by a bronze cat across the road.
