Lagoa do Fogo
The gua de Pau Massif stratovolcano, which is located in the middle of the island of So Miguel in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores, contains the crater lake known as Lagoa do Fogo (Lake of Fire). This is one of the most beautiful lakes in Portugal that is situated in a protected region where the building is prohibited, preserving the lake's natural beauty to the fullest extent possible. This lake, which offers a beautiful location for a relaxing stay, derives its name from the fact that it is a crater lake and was created by explosive activity or collapse during a volcanic eruption many years ago.
There are numerous hiking routes and bird nests around this magnificent piece of water. You may reach the summit of the hill from Remedios and enjoy a wide, enchanting view of the entire area. The lake sparkles when the sun's gentle rays touch it, and a delightful breeze is also present. It is a genuinely beautiful experience.
