Pateira de Fermentelos

Before the River Cértima and the River Gueda converge, in the triangle formed by the counties of Gueda, Aveiro, and Oliveira do Bairro, lies a natural lake known as Pateira de Fermentelos or just Pateira. The parishes of Is da Ribeira, Fermentelos, Espinhel, and Requeixo surround it.

This lake is the ideal place for nature enthusiasts to visit because it is surrounded by beautiful scenery and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. It is a region with a diverse range of aquatic, terrestrial, and bird species, including different bird species like ducks, woodpeckers, rabbils, and shortfish. Water lilies, canizia, and bonhos are all present in the flora. Staying in the neighboring city of Aveiro, which is renowned for its distinctive canals, adorable, colorful boats, as well as its rich culinary scene full of fresh seafood, is something we strongly advise.
