Lake Bababu

Lake Bababu is in the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, a place off the main path for outdoorsy, adventurous sorts in northern Mindanao. It is one of the most stunning lakes in the nation and may be reached by hiking a 700-meter journey through a pristine jungle on a steep, rocky trail. It differs from other lakes in two ways.

The lake is meromictic, which means that freshwater and saltwater do not mix and remain separate throughout the year. Only ten lakes of this kind exist in the Philippines, and Lake Bababu is one of them. Its 650-meter underwater cave, one of the longest in the nation, is the second distinctive feature. Divers enter at one end of the lake and exit at the other into the salty sea.

This lake is a terrific location if you enjoy working out. The trail can be too challenging for some people, though. Lake Bababu is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Philippines.
