Lake Danao
On the Philippine island of Leyte, there is a lake called Lake Danao that resembles a guitar. The lake is volcanic in origin and was likely created by the Philippine Fault (also known as the Leyte Central Fault), an active fault that runs through the lake's vicinity from north to south. The deepest part of the current lake may have once been a much larger one. It may have contained vast swamps and marshes when it was much bigger in the geologic past. This area of the lake has presumably been altered by sedimentation to become what it is now.
A famous tourist destination in Leyte, an island that faces the Pacific Ocean and is best known as the location of the second world war's major naval engagement, is Lake Danao. The violin-shaped lake is situated in an area of Ormoc City that is 650 meters above sea level and boasts a mild climate that encourages comfortable gatherings along its gorgeous edges. At the heart of the 2,000-acre Lake Danao Natural Park is the 148-hectare lake.
It is a source of drinkable water that offers a sufficient supply to adjacent townships and is known locally as a lover's lake. The ideal location for outdoor sports including hiking, trekking, biking, and horseback riding is this eco-tourist park. Visitors can rent cabins and huts along the lake's edge while they're there.
