Lake Bogovinje
Lake Bogovinje is one of 39 lakes on Šar mountains, in the Bogovinje municipality in the western part Macedonia. This is a small lake with 245m long and 210m wide. The lake is located in the rocky lakes, with a very elongated shape, with a large change in width, and with this it differs from the other lakes in the area.
Like other lakes on Šar mountains, Lake Bogovinje takes an important role in boosting tourism in the local area. Many tourist come here every year to enjoy a beautiful, sustainable and safe tourist destination. The best way to go to this lake is by hiking. From the top of Šar mountains, you can see crearly the whole view of the valley, with Lake Bogovinje being in the middle of the view. the blue water of the lake matches so well with the green of the grass around, making it a beautiful view that will wowed you after a long rail of hiking. If you're lucky, you could even see wild animals like deers and wild horses drinks water from the lake. The locals there are also very hospitality towards tourists.
If you visit here in winter, aside from being able to witness a stunning view of the frozen lake that is surrounded by white snow, you can even participate in various winter sports, especially skiing.
