Latin American University of Science and Technology

Latin American University of Science and Technology (ULACIT) is a dynamic, innovative, and entrepreneurial university with roots dating back to the country's first university in 1936. Its history is one of resilience and transformation, with projects aimed at the future of Costa Rica's capital, motivated by a commitment to the advancement of its people, the productive sector, the country, and the worldwide community. Students, graduates, teachers, and administrative staff strive to stand out as professionals, citizens, and human beings by working together in a spirit of solidarity, integrity, and inclusion.

ULACIT is located in the Tournón district, 800 meters north of Central Park in San José and 150 meters south of the newspaper La Repblica. It is in San José's financial center, around 20 kilometers (20 minutes) from Juan Santamara International Airport. Escaz, Plaza Tempo, is home to the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer. Because of the campus's interurban proximity to many cantons and districts in San José and Heredia, there are numerous access routes to ULACIT.

Learning, according to ULACIT, is defined as an individual's ability to apply information in fresh settings in ways that are comparable to those represented by specialists in specific areas. Students exhibit their learning when they are able to move beyond the acquisition of knowledge to complete projects that are appreciated by their communities. These projects are carried out in workgroups, employing project management approaches that are commonly utilized in the workplace. The lessons are delivered in flipped classrooms, with theory delivered at home in virtual classrooms and practice delivered in the traditional classroom.
