National University of Costa Rica

The National University of Costa Rica is one of five public colleges in Central America's Republic of Costa Rica. It is known for being one of the best universities in Costa Rica. Its main campus is home to around 12,000 students. It offers 16 Master of Arts degrees in addition to a diverse undergraduate curriculum. It is well-known for its strong ecology, sociology, and education departments. Alberto Salom Echeverria, a former legislator for the Citizen Action Party (PAC), will be the new rector of the National University of Costa Rica (UNA) for the 2015–2020 academic year.

The Omar Dengo Site, UNA's main campus, is located in Heredia, Costa Rica, and houses the administration and the majority of the university's colleges. The rest are largely on the Benjamin Nunez Campus, which is named after the National University's founder and first president.

The main campus was named after Omar Dengo Guerrero, a well-known Costa Rican educator who spent his career teaching at the Normal School of Costa Rica, which later became the National University.

The UNA-BCIE agreement, which aimed to repair some of the oldest buildings on campus, such as the College of the Arts and College of Social Sciences Buildings, has been a recent endeavor to modernize the infrastructure on campus.
