Effective supply chain network development and management enables firms to reduce costs while increasing customer value. This 5th edition of Logistics & Supply Chain Management has been updated to provide a clear overview to all of the important themes in an integrated approach to supply chains.

There are two new chapters in addition to new and updated examples and case studies:

  • Routes to Market: Many businesses now must manage various distribution channels; this chapter addresses strategic problems about how businesses "get to market," as well as the cost consequences of adopting alternative channels.
  • Service Logistics: As organizations continue to sell performance rather than physical products, this chapter investigates the consequences for logistics management as the requirement to provide better levels of service and customer support becomes increasingly important.
