Since the first edition of Strategic Supply Chain Management established itself as the authority on producing value and gaining a competitive advantage from the supply chain, the global scene has evolved tremendously. Shorter economic cycles, more frequent natural disasters, higher prices in low-cost countries, more limited access to working capital, and a greater emphasis on sustainability have made good supply chain management far more difficult—and far more important to the bottom line.
This second edition is your response to achieving a strategic advantage in the face of these difficulties. It demonstrates how to make your supply chains more agile, flexible, and robust by drawing on dozens of new firm examples as well as cutting-edge benchmarking studies.
This totally redesigned book, with 80 easy-to-read tables and pictures, teaches how to:
- Create a supply chain strategy to help you achieve your company objectives.
- Create a process architecture that depicts the actions of the entire supply chain.
- Create the most efficient supply chain organization possible.
- Create mutually beneficial partnerships with your supply chain partners.
- Metrics can be used to analyze and drive business success.
- Put in place revolutionary change.
New profiles of BASF, Essilor, Haier, Kaiser Permanente, Lenovo, and Schlumberger demonstrate how today's top supply chain strategies work. Learn what these industry leaders are doing to maximize the value of their supply networks.
Strategic Supply Chain Management, Second Edition is required when value is dependent on how successfully you deliver.
