Lower the Risk of Insulin Resistance

Insulin is a very essential hormone. It aids in the movement of nutrients from the circulation into cells to be consumed or stored for later use. However, some people cease reacting to insulin as a result of a variety of causes, including excessive sugar consumption. This is known as insulin resistance. Unfortunately, insulin resistance is widespread and has been related to a variety of chronic health issues, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and metabolic syndrome. Interestingly, studies have indicated that polyphenols present in white tea, such as those found in green tea, may reduce your risk of insulin resistance.

EGCG and other polyphenols present in white tea have been shown in animal experiments to increase the effects of insulin and prevent excessive blood sugar levels. Scientists discovered that the compounds present in teas, such as polyphenols, dramatically decreased blood sugar and insulin levels in a review of 17 research involving over 1,100 participants. While the research appears encouraging, further human-based studies on white tea will be needed to determine whether it might lessen the risk of insulin resistance.
