Malcolm and Marie (2021)

Sam Levinson wrote, produced, and directed Malcolm and Marie, a black-and-white romantic drama film released in 2021. Filming took conducted in secret in June and July 2020, making it the first Hollywood picture to be written, funded, and produced during the COVID-19 epidemic. Kid Cudi, an American music artist, is an executive producer on the film.

The video depicts writer-director Malcolm Elliott and his lover, Marie Jones, returning home following a movie premiere. While Marie is disappointed that she was not included in Malcolm's speech, she rapidly becomes perplexed as to why she was not cast as the film's female protagonist. Malcolm goes on to explain how the persona was mostly based on all of the women he had previously dated, further causing a breach between the pair. As the night progresses, their friendship is put to the ultimate test as their issues come to a climax.
