Marinka Waterfall

Marinka Waterfall is the next one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Colombia. Minca is a little village outside of Santa Marta that is close to the well-known Tayrona National Park. It is a cute little town with a few great cafes and restaurants as well as numerous neighboring farms for cocoa and coffee. The mountains' lush forests also offer a haven from the Caribbean Coast's heat. There are many fantastic waterfalls to cool off close by to Minca. The more well-known falls, Pozo Azul, are nearby and only a short distance from town. The Marinka Waterfalls, on the other hand, are significantly more stunning and well worth the extra effort to get there.

The Marinka Waterfall are located around a 90-minute hike from town. If you're pressed for time, you can also take a moto-taxis from the city. The hike is pleasant in and of itself, and if you're lucky you might see some gorgeous birds and butterflies. There is a little entrance fee to the falls, but they did a wonderful job constructing a restroom, a changing facility, as well as a little café and restaurant on the property. From the café, the large hammocks that overlook the falls provide for stunning pictures. It's simple to overlook that there is a higher area to the falls, so be sure to explore it by ascending the slope to the right of the café. You can take a plunge in the frigid yet reviving waters of the lower falls, which are larger and likely around 15 meters high. One of the top things to do in this charming little town, it's a terrific way to spend the morning before seeing the rest of Minca.
