  1. The Salto del Mortino waterfall may be found in the Puracé National Park, next to San Agustn, along the Magdalena River, in a little community named Hula. Atmospheric is the stunning 170-meter descent. The Salto de Bordones and the Salto del Mortino, which may be reached on the way to the Salto de Bordones, are both located within the same National Park. A striking and one-of-a-kind natural scene is El Salto del Mortio. One of the best waterfalls in South America, measuring more than 200 meters, is the area's main draw. The Crystal Bridge and Viewpoint at the Salto del Mortio have recently gained notoriety because they provide a unique vantage point from which to observe the waterfall as it cascades from the top of the leap to the earth's surface.

One of the attractions in Isnos is the Salto del Mortio. There is also the recent and well-known Mirador de Cristal, commonly known as the "falcon's eye," from where you can enjoy a stunning view of the waterfall and capture distinctive pictures. Next to it is the "flight of the eagle," Huila's biggest swing, from which you can obtain yet another breathtaking perspective of the Salto del Mortio. The Salto de Bordones, a second waterfall with a height of more than 400 meters, is located next to the Salto del Mortio and features one of southern Colombia's most breathtaking sceneries. You can visit the Alto de los dolos and the Alto de las Piedras nearby to learn more about the mysteries that are kept here. These two archaeological sectors are part of the San Agustn Park. In case you decide to spend the night, you should also be aware that Isnos has a broad selection of hotels, hostels, farms, and country homes. It is one among the things you should do when you are in the Huila municipality.

  2. The most impressive and one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Colombia is called La Chorrera, and it is 590 meters high. Just for that, it is well worth the trip from nearby Bogota. Being nearly 600 meters tall has its drawbacks, including making it nearly hard to observe the entire cascade at once. You can stand beneath one of the smaller waterfall steps and feel the water fall on you even if you are unable to swim here. The waterfall is found inside the Parque Aventura La Chorrera Ecopark and is reached after hiking 2.5 kilometers through fields and woods. 35,000 COP is the lowest entrance cost per person. But this does include a drawstring bag, a drink, and some snacks in addition to the personal hygiene package. There are several packages available that include lunch and additional bonuses. The mist, which occasionally appears at the top of the waterfall, is one of the reasons why this waterfall is frequently described as mysterious or romantic.

You must ride a bus from Bogota to Choachi, requesting to get off at La Chorrera on route. You may either take a taxi from there or walk 5 kilometers to the park's entrance; fortunately, the path is primarily downhill. Once within the park, the trail is straightforward although occasionally treacherous and muddy. To guarantee there is sufficient of water flowing, try to visit on a dry day after a recent storm. Despite Cascada La Chorrera's amazing statistics, not many people travel the 13 kilometers outside of Bogota. Due to the availability of camping and adventurous activities like abseiling on the weekends, the park is well-liked by locals. Visit on a weekday for a more serene, calm experience.

  3. This stunning waterfall in Hula, a little village close to San Agustin, is Colombia's tallest continuous waterfall. There is a vantage point across the valley with expansive views of the cascade and the surrounding mountains, but there is no way to go to the bottom of the mountain. This viewpoint can be accessed from a 10-kilometer dirt road that climbs the mountain. The waterfall is found in the Puracé National Park and originates from the Magdalena River. The Bordones waterfall, which is among the highest in South America and the highest in Colombia, rises around 400 meters above the ground. It is tucked away among the mountains of the Colombian Massif and creates lovely gorges along its course. and striking cliffs are located roughly 15 miles from the town of Isnos. Because some Caucan inhabitants used a staff to cross from one bank of the river to the other, giving help to walkers and hikers, the place got its name.

You can see the Salto de Bordones Waterfall from various vantage points, visit the lower, middle, and upper part, and get the best panoramic view of the impressive Bordones Canyon. One of the numerous wonders that the department of Huila has, all designed for us to enjoy and take care of ourselves, can be found when you get to the Salto de Bordones viewpoint. You can begin a descent through the ecological route if you wish to be nearer the waterfall. When you get to the bottom of the leap, your body starts to relax. You take a deep breath, close your eyes, and focus while enjoying every splash of water that falls on your face. The minutes slowly pass, and you start to rise.

  4. This one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Colombia is only 32 kilometers from Bogota, the capital of Colombia. The 157-meter-high falls have no access to their base, although they can be seen from a viewing platform across the valley that is near to the old, deserted Hotel El Refugio del Salto. This eerie motel offers a beautiful vista and a fantastic photo opportunity. The Bogota savannah lake was said to have been drained by the waterfall, allowing the Muisca tribe, a native Colombian tribe, to construct the city. Fog frequently floats over the waterfall in this mysterious and sacred location, creating a tranquil and alluring atmosphere.

Tequendama Falls, or Salto del Tequendama in Spanish, is a stunning waterfall that can be reached easily from Bogotá. Because of its accessibility, Tequendama Falls made our list of the finest day outings and weekend getaways from Colombia's capital. As the location where the indigenous Musca people jumped to their deaths to escape Spanish slavery (and in local folklore were transformed into eagles to be able to fly to freedom), this location is steeped in legend, and Bogotanos still use it as a suicide hangout today.

Tequendama Falls is known for its Hotel del Salto. It has maintained its wonderful romantic architecture without wavering and is the only real brick structure you'll find for miles near Hotel del Salto. It was initially constructed in 1928 and developed into a getaway for affluent Bogotanos. The Hotel del Salto used to be painted pink, but as part of its ongoing renovation, it has been changed to white. The views are unmatched because it is situated directly on the edge of Salto del Tequendama.

  5. This unusual waterfall is hidden inside a cave and is situated in Jardin, a municipality in Antioquia around 140 kilometers from Medellin. There is a small waterfall created by a spherical hole that leads to the river above deep inside the cave. It takes an hour to ride a horse to the location, then it takes 20 minutes to hike to the falls. Swimming in the waterfall, caving, abseiling, visiting coffee farms, paragliding, and viewing endangered parrots and other wildlife are all possible in this region.

The most well-known attraction in Jardín is this magnificent cave, which is situated at 2200 meters above sea level in the midst of stunning landscapes. The only way to get to the cave is on foot over occasionally treacherous, narrow mountain routes. To minimize further harm to the cave, there is a daily restriction of 40 visitors at the entrance, which is about a three-hour hike from Jardn. Now that there is only one authorized guide for hiking tours, make reservations. The cascade starts roughly 70 meters above the entrance and descends in stages before emptying into a small lake at the cave's bottom, sending up clouds of mist. Although it's feasible, the water is extremely chilly.

  6. Marinka Waterfall is the next one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Colombia. Minca is a little village outside of Santa Marta that is close to the well-known Tayrona National Park. It is a cute little town with a few great cafes and restaurants as well as numerous neighboring farms for cocoa and coffee. The mountains' lush forests also offer a haven from the Caribbean Coast's heat. There are many fantastic waterfalls to cool off close by to Minca. The more well-known falls, Pozo Azul, are nearby and only a short distance from town. The Marinka Waterfalls, on the other hand, are significantly more stunning and well worth the extra effort to get there.

The Marinka Waterfall are located around a 90-minute hike from town. If you're pressed for time, you can also take a moto-taxis from the city. The hike is pleasant in and of itself, and if you're lucky you might see some gorgeous birds and butterflies. There is a little entrance fee to the falls, but they did a wonderful job constructing a restroom, a changing facility, as well as a little café and restaurant on the property. From the café, the large hammocks that overlook the falls provide for stunning pictures. It's simple to overlook that there is a higher area to the falls, so be sure to explore it by ascending the slope to the right of the café. You can take a plunge in the frigid yet reviving waters of the lower falls, which are larger and likely around 15 meters high. One of the top things to do in this charming little town, it's a terrific way to spend the morning before seeing the rest of Minca.

  7. Last one in the list of the most beautiful waterfalls in Colombia is Taparto waterfall. The nicest town in all of Colombia, Jardin, is tucked away in the coffee-growing area of the Andes. Jardn is a peaceful colonial town famous for its treks, refreshing waterfalls, and coffee and chocolate. The allure of this village will draw you in even if it is no longer a well-kept secret and is still relatively unknown. While Jardín, Colombia has a lot to offer on its own, there is even more if you only step outside. This is where the stunning Taparto Waterfalls (Chorros de Tapartó), which are still relatively unexplored, come into play. The three-tiered waterfalls reach heights of 35, 60, and 100 meters. The final waterfall is the highest and most magnificent.

It's challenging to reach these falls. You'll need most of the day to finish it as well. After a short drive from Jardn, the trailhead to the waterfalls is followed by an 8-mile (13.5-km) roundtrip climb. The hike is largely flat and moderately easy. The only genuine concern you should have is that you are completely exposed. Therefore, pack plenty of water, sunscreen, and a hat. Additionally, after you get to the falls, you can swim in the water! Although optional, the hardest part is worthwhile. To appreciate the first two levels of the falls, you can scramble some rocks, but to get to the last level, you'll need to scramble rocks, do a little free-hand rock climbing, and really slog through the forest! Although a little chaotic (particularly on the way back down), it is well worthwhile!
