Tequendama Waterfall

This one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Colombia is only 32 kilometers from Bogota, the capital of Colombia. The 157-meter-high falls have no access to their base, although they can be seen from a viewing platform across the valley that is near to the old, deserted Hotel El Refugio del Salto. This eerie motel offers a beautiful vista and a fantastic photo opportunity. The Bogota savannah lake was said to have been drained by the waterfall, allowing the Muisca tribe, a native Colombian tribe, to construct the city. Fog frequently floats over the waterfall in this mysterious and sacred location, creating a tranquil and alluring atmosphere.

Tequendama Falls, or Salto del Tequendama in Spanish, is a stunning waterfall that can be reached easily from Bogotá. Tequendama Falls is known for its Hotel del Salto. It has maintained its wonderful romantic architecture without wavering and is the only real brick structure you'll find for miles near Hotel del Salto. It was initially constructed in 1928 and developed into a getaway for affluent Bogotanos. The Hotel del Salto used to be painted pink, but as part of its ongoing renovation, it has been changed to white. The views are unmatched because it is situated directly on the edge of Salto del Tequendama.
