M*A*S*H
From 1972 through 1983, M*A*S*H was an American war comedy-drama television series that aired on CBS. It was created by Larry Gelbart as the first original spin-off series based on Richard Hooker's 1968 novel MASH: A Novel About Three Army Doctors, which was adapted into the 1970 feature film M*A*S*H. During the Korean War (1950–53), the series follows a group of doctors and support personnel stationed in the "4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital" in Uijeongbu, South Korea.
"For the depth of its humor and the manner in which comedy is used to elevate the spirit and, as well, to give a deep remark on the nature of war," the show received a Peabody Award in 1975. Not only that but in 1981, the show was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy).
