The Bob Newhart Show
The Bob Newhart Show was an American sitcom television series that ran on CBS from September 16, 1972, to April 1, 1978, with a total of 142 half-hour episodes over six seasons. It was created by MTM Enterprises. The show revolves around Chicago psychologist Robert "Bob" Hartley, Ph.D. (Newhart). The majority of the film takes place between work and home, with his loving, though occasionally caustic, wife Emily (Suzanne Pleshette) and their friendly but noisy neighbor, airline navigator Howard Borden (Bill Daily). The show was shot in front of a live audience.
The show was nominated for two Emmys in 1977: "Outstanding Comedy Series" and "Outstanding Continued Performance by an Actress in a Comedy Series" for Pleshette. In 1975 and 1976, Newhart was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for "Best TV Actor—Musical/Comedy."
