With offices in 40 different locations, Mastek is an international leader in digital engineering and cloud transformation for enterprises. The company has over 5,810 workers in over 100 countries and is publicly traded on the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange; it specializes in digital transformation services and software for large public and private enterprises. Mastek was established on May 14, 1982, by Ashank Desai, Ketan Mehta, and R. Sundar, three graduates of the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. At the time, the company was known as Management and Software Technology Private Limited. John Owen joined the company in late 2016, succeeding Sudhakar Ram as Group CEO, and the two men have worked together ever since. In July of 2021, Ashank Desai was promoted to the position of Vice Chairman, and Hiral Chandrana was brought on board as Mastek's Global CEO.
