Nykaa

Falguni Nayar launched the online retailer Nykaa in 2012 from the Indian city of Mumbai. Selling cosmetics, health supplements, and clothing online and in over a hundred brick-and-mortar locations. It was the first Indian unicorn firm to have a female CEO in 2020.

The products offered by Nykaa are both Indian and foreign in origin. In 2015, the business shifted its focus from selling cosmetics online alone to selling through many channels. By the year 2020, they will have sold over 2,000 different brands and 200,000 different products through their various channels.

Former Kotak Mahindra Capital Company managing director Falguni Nayar launched Nykaa in April 2012 as an online marketplace for health and cosmetic supplies. Actress or "one in the spotlight" in Sanskrit is nayaka, the root of the company's brand name Nykaa. The site made its debut around the time of Diwali in 2012, and went live for business use the following year.
