Meat Pancakes (Hortobagyi Palacsinta)
Crepes are highly popular throughout Europe, and Hungary is no exception. Palacsinta (or palatschinke) is a thin pancake that resembles a crepe in appearance. They're usually rolled in apricot, strawberry, or plum jam before being dusted with powdered sugar. Nutella, apple sauce, or thick fruit jams could all be used as substitutes.
Hortobagyi Palacsinta, or beef pancakes, are quite distinct in Hungary. To begin the dish, you'll need to make a couple thin pancakes. You'll need a flavorful blend of chicken or beef chopped into small bits for the stuffing.
After that, stuff the pancakes with the meat and roll them up like burritos before baking the whole dish. Make a creamy paprika sauce and serve the dish with a healthy amount of sour cream while the pancakes are cooking.
