Mr. Sunshine
Mr. Sunshine is a 2018 South Korean television series written and directed by Kim Eun-sook. The series takes place in Hanseong (modern-day Seoul) in the early 1900s and follows activists fighting for Korea's independence. The series' final episode received 18.129 percent and a 12.955 percent average rating, the second highest average rating ever recorded for cable television.
Despite not being a hit throughout Asia, Mr. Sunshine is well received in its home country of Korea and becomes one of the dramas with the highest ratings in tvN history. Kim Eun Sook, the golden screenwriter, wrote the drama, which starred Lee Byung Hun, Kim Tae Ri, and Yoo Yeon Seok. The plot revolves around the tragic but heartbreaking romance of Korean-born American marine officer Eugene Choi (Lee Byung Hun). After many years in the United States, he returns to his hometown and falls in love with Go Ae Shin (Kim Tae Ri), the daughter of an aristocrat.
