Museum of Flight

In the Seattle metropolitan region, the Museum of Flight is a private non-profit aviation and space museum. It's in the city of Tukwila, just south of Seattle, near the southern end of King County International Airport (Boeing Field). The American Alliance of Museums has fully certified the museum, which was founded in 1965. It also provides significant K–12 educational programs as the world's biggest private aviation and space museum.

Every year, the museum receives over 500,000 visitors[6] and educates over 140,000 children through its onsite programs, which include a Challenger Learning Center, an Aviation Learning Center, and a summer camp (ACE), as well as outreach programs that travel throughout Washington and Oregon. With the addition of a Challenger Learning Center in 1992, the museum's educational activities expanded dramatically. Students may participate in a Space Shuttle mission with this interactive display. It has a scale model of NASA mission control as well as experiments from many fields of space exploration.
