Ngapali Beach

Ngapali Beach in Thadwe, Rakhine State, is one of the most well-known Myanmar beaches. According to folklore, the beach was named after the Italian city of Naples by a homesick Italian. Because of the easy access from Yangon, it is the most visited and one of the nicest beaches in Myanmar that you should not miss if you are planning a beach escape on your trip.

Ngapali is a popular beach resort due to its up to 8km of white sand beach with palm trees and brilliant blue water. Ngapali used to be the location to go for a luxurious vacation, thanks to a plethora of premium, gorgeous resorts offering the ideal beach hideaway.

With such a vast stretch of beach, you can still have plenty of it to yourself if you venture a bit further out from these resorts to enjoy all the activities. It is one of Myanmar's top beaches for snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming. You may also practice your golf swing here.

How to get there: Fly into Thandwe Airport from either Yangon or Mandalay. The 10-minute trip to Ngapali Beach is covered by a cab or booked hotel transport.
