Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is a survival horror video game released in 1999 by Capcom for the PlayStation. It's the third game in the Resident Evil series, and it takes place practically concurrently with Resident Evil 2. The player takes control of former elite agent Jill Valentine as she flees a virus-infected metropolis. The game employs the same technology as its predecessors, with 3D models over pre-rendered backdrops and fixed camera angles. The game's choices influence how the tale evolves and which conclusion is reached.

Resident Evil 3 was created concurrently with Resident Evil – Code: Veronica as a spin-off with a different protagonist. It was supposed to be more action-oriented than its predecessors, with a greater number of foes for the player to overcome. It also adds Nemesis, a monster inspired by the T-1000 Terminator from the 1991 film Terminator 2: Judgment Day that intermittently chases the player throughout the game. Resident Evil 3 got favorable reviews and sold more than three million copies worldwide, thanks to a large marketing effort. The realistic visuals and Nemesis as an imposing adversary were commended by critics, however, the short duration and plot were panned.
