Resident Evil 5
Capcom developed and released Resident Evil 5, a third-person shooter video game. It is a key installment in the Resident Evil series, and it was revealed in 2005, the same year as its predecessor, Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil 5 was released in March 2009 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, and in September 2009 for Microsoft Windows. The narrative revolves around Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance agents Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar investigating a terrorist threat in Kijuju, a fictitious province of West Africa. Chris discovers that he must confront his history in the shape of an old adversary, Albert Wesker, and a former colleague, Jill Valentine.
Resident Evil 5's gameplay is similar to the previous iteration, but it is the first in the series built for two-player cooperative gaming. It was also considered the first game in the main series to deviate from the survival horror genre, with critics comparing it to an action game. For the cutscenes, motion capture was employed, and it was the first video game to use a virtual camera system. Several original Resident Evil crew members collaborated on Resident Evil 5. Mercenary Technology created the PC version.
Release date: 2009
