Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a survival horror game released in 2017 by Capcom. Ethan Winters is controlled by the player as he seeks his long-missing wife amid a dilapidated plantation populated by an infected family, solving puzzles and fighting foes. Resident Evil 7 departs from the more action-oriented Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, returning to the survival horror foundations of the game and stressing exploration. It is the first main Resident Evil game to employ a first-person perspective.
Resident Evil 7 is the first full-length game to make use of Capcom's proprietary RE Engine. Koshi Nakanishi, the director of the 2012 Nintendo 3DS game Resident Evil: Revelations, oversaw the creation. It was first shown as a virtual reality demo named Kitchen a year before its official debut at E3 2016. To immerse players, the team took inspiration from the 1981 film The Evil Dead, reduced the game to one area, and employed a first-person perspective. Not a Hero and End of Zoe, two downloadable content scenarios, were produced.
