RRR
RRR is a 2022 Telugu-language epic action drama film directed by S. S. Rajamouli, who also co-wrote the script with V. Vijayendra Prasad. It is produced by DVV Entertainment's D. V. V. Danayya. N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris feature in the film. It tells the narrative of two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), and their fight against the British Raj. Set in 1920, the plot delves into an undocumented moment in their lives when both revolutionaries chose to disappear before fighting for their nation.
Rajamouli stumbled across stories about Rama Raju and Bheem's life and connected the coincidences, envisioning what might have happened if they had met and became friends. In March 2018, the film was formally announced. The film's principal photography began in November 2018 in Hyderabad and continued until August 2021. The film was shot mostly in India, with a few scenes in Ukraine and Bulgaria. M. M. Keeravani composed the music and background score for the film, which was shot by K. K. Senthil Kumar and edited by A. Sreekar Prasad. Sabu Cyril served as the film's production designer, and V. Srinivas Mohan oversaw the visual effects.
RRR, which was made on a budget of $72 million, was originally intended for theatrical release on July 30, 2020, but it was postponed many times due to production difficulties, which were followed by the pandemic. The film was released in theaters on March 25, 2022, to favorable reviews from critics who praised the acting and narrative. RRR smashed the record for the largest opening-day collection by an Indian film, earning $31 million worldwide on its first day. During its theatrical run, the film grossed over $150 million globally, breaking multiple box office records for an Indian film.
