The Conclusion
Rajamouli directed the 2017 Indian epic action film Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The film was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Tamil and stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishna, Sathyaraj, Nassar, and Subbaraju. The sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning, the second film in the Baahubali saga serves as both a sequel and a prequel. The film is set in medieval India and chronicles Amarendra Baahubali and Bhallaladeva's sibling rivalry; the latter conspires against the former and has him assassinated by Kattappa. Amarendra's son returns years later to avenge his father's death.
The production, which had a budget of $33 million, debuted on December 17, 2015, at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The Conclusion was published on April 28, 2017, and has since been dubbed into Hindi, Malayalam, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese. The Conclusion was the first Telugu film to be released in 4K High Definition format, in addition to regular 2D and IMAX versions.
It broke numerous box office records in India, becoming the highest-grossing film in Hindi, as well as Telugu and Tamil. During its box office run, the picture sold an estimated 100 million tickets (all languages combined).
The Conclusion received favorable reviews from critics. It won the American Saturn Award for Best International Film and the Telstra People's Choice Award in Australia. It was nominated for three National Film Awards, including Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Special Effects, and Best Stunt Choreographer. The Conclusion had its world premiere at the British Film Institute and was the opening film at the 39th Moscow International Film Festival. It will be shown in the "Indian Panorama" section of India's 48th International Film Festival.
