Saving Private Ryan
Saving Private Ryan is a 1998 American epic war film written by Robert Rodat and directed by Steven Spielberg. The film, set during World Battle II's Invasion of Normandy, is noted for its violent depiction of war, particularly its depiction of the Omaha Beach assault during the Normandy landings.
"Saving Private Ryan" remains one of the finest war pictures of all time, more than two decades after its premiere. The modern-day classic depicts the narrative of a troop of United States Army Rangers who battle through the D-Day landing at Omaha Beach and then proceed on a mission to retrieve the title soldier so he may return home to his family after all of his brothers were killed in the war. The film's violent sights of war and terrible opening sequence drew notice upon its first release, but Steven Spielberg's Best Director Oscar for the picture had as much to do with the human moments as it did with the cruel ones.
