Supermac's

This Irish treasure began in Galway in 1978. Supermac's claim to fame is that it invented two Irish specialties before anybody else: curry chips, which are french fries drowned in curry sauce, and the snack box, which varies based on the order. Burgers, chicken, cod, fries, and Irish dairy ice cream are featured on the menu.

Supermac's is similar to McDonald's in Ireland... but better. They first started in Galway in 1978, and they're still run by Pat McDonagh, the man who came up with the concept.

So, what do they have that McDonald's doesn't? All of their beef is supplied from Ireland and is fully traceable, which is a major deal. There's a lot more to them than simply beef, chicken, and fish burgers; they also provide entire subs. Let's speak about fries... or, more accurately, chips. In 2017, Joe announced that they would be doing something revolutionary with their chips: hand-cutting them all in-store. They're also not your average chips; they're famed for their garlic, garlic and cheese, curry and cheese, and taco varieties.

Supermac's is a great place to go if you want a burger, but your kids or traveling companions want subs. Try their signature fries, which come slathered in curry and garlic, cheese and garlic, or taco meat.
