Sylvan Beach

Sylvan Beach is one of the nearest beaches to Houston, taking roughly 30 minutes to reach. This 32-acre Harris County park is ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoying a nice beach with a fresh ocean breeze.

Sylvan Beach, unlike other beaches in the area, has natural sand, no seaweed, and smaller waves for more enjoyable swimming. There is a beach park with activities such as a playground for children, sand volleyball nets, and a skate park, in addition to swimming in the mild waves. On either side of the pier, there are two sections of beaches with swimming areas and soft sand. The park at Sylvan Beach includes plenty of picnic tables as well as facilities like showers and bathrooms, making it simple to enjoy the day there. If you wish to bring your dog for the day, there is also a dog park.
