The Ex
The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), often known as The Exhibition or The Ex, is an annual event held at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, for the final 18 days leading up to and including Canadian Labour Day on September 1st. The CNE is Canada's largest yearly fair and the sixth-largest in North America, with over 1.5 million people each year.
In 1879, the first Canadian National Exhibition was held, with the goal of promoting agriculture and technology in Canada.
Agriculturists, engineers, and scientists displayed their ideas and discoveries at the CNE to demonstrate the country's effort and expertise. Though agriculture and technology continue to play a big role in the CNE, it has grown in diversity and creativity as Canada has evolved as a nation. The CNE is an annual family ritual for many people in the Greater Toronto Area and its surrounding areas.
Festivals and Events Ontario, Tourism Toronto, and Attractions Ontario are just a few of the organizations that the CNE collaborates with to promote tourism to the Greater Toronto Area and the province of Ontario.
Dates: from mid-August to Labour Day
