The Social Network (2010)
The Social Network is a biographical drama film directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin that was released in 2010. It portrays the establishment of the social networking website Facebook and the ensuing litigation, based on Ben Mezrich's 2009 book The Accidental Billionaires. As Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg develops the social networking site that would become known as Facebook, he is sued by the Zuckerberg twins, who say he stole their concept, and by a co-founder who was eventually forced out of the company.
Since its first release, The Social Network has maintained a solid reputation among reviewers, and it is frequently ranked as one of the best films of its decade and century. Sorkin's screenplay was named the third-best of the twenty-first century by the Writers Guild of America. While there has been no official sequel announcement, Sorkin has publicly expressed interest in writing a script for one if Fincher returns to direct.
