The Woman in the Window
Based on A. J. Finn's 2018 novel of the same name, The Woman in the Window is a 2021 American psychological thriller film that Joe Wright will direct from a screenplay by Tracy Letts. The story revolves around an agoraphobic woman (Amy Adams) who starts watching her new neighbors (Gary Oldman, Fred Hechinger, and Julianne Moore) and discovers that they've been the victims of a crime. Jennifer Jason Leigh, Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry, and Anthony Mackie also star.
The final movie produced by Fox 2000 Pictures was originally slated to be released in theaters by 20th Century Fox and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures in October 2019, however owing to re-editing after subpar test screenings, the release date was pushed back to May 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic later caused the cinema release to be postponed, and the rights to the movie were sold to Netflix. On May 14, 2021, Netflix will release the movie. At the time of its release, the movie garnered unfavorable reviews from critics, who primarily criticized Wright's direction and the script while also praising the cast.
